TEXAS CITY, TX – Anyone in Texas City on Saturday, Dec. 14 can expect heavy amounts of snow in the area. In fact, more than 100,000 lbs. of snow is headed to Texas City for the City’s annual Snow Spectacular event.
“In Texas City, residents can now say they grew up playing in the snow!” said Parks & Recreation Director Nicole Miller. “The Parks and Recreation Department is thrilled to host this special winter event that gives everyone the chance to throw snowballs and enjoy sliding down a snow-covered slide.”
Snow Spectacular will also feature a special winter maze, arts and crafts activities, vendors, a food truck and photo opportunities with Santa Claus. The Texas City Police Department will also be in attendance with the Blue Santa Express, where kids can compete in carnival-style games to win a toy or other prize.
The event is Saturday, Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nessler Park (1700 5th
Ave. N.). Admission and all activities are free, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy something rare in Texas: a snow day.
